This story was widely seen & heard in the media. The little puppy who was named Mandy, was witnessed being tossed out of a moving car near 55th & N. Peoria after being set on fire late one Wednesday night (11/06/02). The pup quickly was engulfed in flames while struggling in the middle of the road until a passerby stopped to help. After being kept at the rescuer's home overnight, the pup was brought to Tulsa SPCA Clinic where Dr. Connie began treatment. The 5 month old Rottweiler's survival was uncertain, having burns on her back, stomach & rear end. Tulsa Police and Tulsa SPCA cruelty officers investigated this case for weeks with no solid leads.
